Special Times and Friends

You may remember me posting about my best friend from when I was younger. Here is a link to the post and here is another one. She was in town last week and I was able to go to Charlotte to visit with her and finally meet her little boy. She had the best news to share with me! She is expecting also in December! We had always talked about how it would be so much fun to be pregnant together but I never dreamed it would happen. What a blessing! So above, you see the two preggos!
If you noticed the jar, there is a lizard in there that Sharon helped Brady catch.
The boys loved looking at it!
And then it was time to say good-bye. The time went way too fast...Hopefully next time we can spend more time together. Finley was so sweet with Brady. He loved sitting in his lap and gave him this big hug.

"I Am Not Amused"

This is what Blake said when he found the little kitty we had been trying to hide in our basement.
We had so much fun with the little kitty but Blake said we could NOT keep it. (I had brought it home knowing it might have to go back...) But then Blake's cousin, Jamie, came over and decided she would take it. So we packed kitty up and off he went. Turns out Jamie's dad does not care for cats either so she took kitty to her friend's house. Turns out their other boy cat did not agree with the new kitty so...we were back to square one. Kitty was with us.
So we held on to kitty for another week or so. While eating at Applebees one afternoon, we found out our waitress worked for the SPCA and had a friend who desperately wanted a tiny, little kitten. We told her about our little one and the next day, she and her boyfriend came and got him.
We were sad to see him go and missed him...until...Brady found where kitty had peed on his favorite Nascar magazine under his bed. Now when you ask him about kitty, he says "I hate kitty."

Flat Stanley and the Circus

These pictures are from early Spring. It was such a fun weekend I still wanted to post them. Brady received an assignment from school...Flat Stanley. Flat Stanley is a little flat man that likes to visit people so Brady decided to take him with us to visit Mimi. His first adventure was building a fort in the backyard. After the fort was built, Mimi decked herself out in camo and got out the BB guns (unloaded of course). (Note: This was a big step for me being the overprotective mom that I am.) They waited and guarded the fort and played. I went out to check what they wanted for lunch, and as I approached Brady raised his little gun and said "POW!" So much for teaching him to shoot animals, not people. I'm only kidding...I know he had fun!

Then the "bandits" came from out of nowhere and caught them off guard and stole their guns.
Later that night, we went to a cute little restaurant in Charlotte. Flat Stanley came along of course. It turned out to be the same place where "Shallow Hal" was shot.
Then we were off to the circus!
Those hats came with the cotton candy Brady begged for. I was so thankful to be the one taking this picture instead of posing.

16 weeks

Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.

I've been keeping up with the baby's size and development through a website and thought I would share one with everyone...just to let you know we are still alive here! My camera cord has been missing but I think I've found it, so hopefully some new posts and pictures are coming soon. By the way, I am feeling better! YEA!
