We have been talking about Martin Luther King Jr. a little bit in my preschool classroom. Basically, my goal is just for the kids to recognize his face and be able to say his name. I started out by showing them a picture every morning during our Greeting Time. The second day after I started, I held up his picture and asked who he was and they all shouted, "THE KING!". Haha! After about a week's worth of practice, I went ahead and stuck his picture down low on a shelf they see every day. A little girl went up to it today and said, "Hey! It's Martin Loser King Jr!" Haha...eventually, they will get it...until then, we keep practicing!
We went on a field trip today to the gymnastics place. (By the way, it was A LOT of fun. You should try it...boys or girls.) When we got back, another little girl kept talking about how much she liked going to "olympics".
